The horse just won the Irish Champion Stakes in most impressive fashion, leaving the very classy Masterscraftsman and Fame And Glory absolutely no chance. Hardly seemed to make an effort, got only one light tap.

He has won the Guineas, the Derby, the Eclipse and the International. Next stop, the Arc. After that, I really hope he goes to the BC Classic. Could be one of the all-time greats.

Hopefully the footing for the Arc will be firm enough for them to run him. He deserves a shot at it. From there it would be only 27 days and 5600 miles (9600km) to the Breeders Cup.

Firm ground probably important, agreed, although maybe the horse is strong enough to overcome wetter ground.

The extra week this year will make it more likely that the Arc winner goes to Santa A in my opinion.
