Has anyone besides me found many of the turf races at Sarataga especially difficult to handicap?

Many of the races seem way too complex for me to be confident about anything. I almost never feel like I have clearly isolated the most probable winner, 2nd most probable winner, etc... so I can be sure I have some value if the board disagrees with my opinion.

I've never been as good at turf handicapping as dirt handicapping and have very few "value" spot plays on turf that I try to key in on, but this meet has been ridiculous. I might as well pass more than half the card and not bother.

If anyone is willing to share some of their ideas I'd be more than appreciative. I can't be the only one that found many of the turf races at Saratoga especially tough.

When I bet a horse on the turf at Saratoga, which isn't often, it has to be a longshot. The races are not only highly competitive, but with the tight turns, many horses get rough trips.

2 things i've noticed

make sure distance successes are matched..distance specialists seem to rule

always give Rice some extra attention...obvious, i know
