This guy Ritchie training and driving the #1 is one that knows how to set one up.He is taking some action off the 15-1 morning line.I will try him in a box here.

He should drift up some on the win end.8-1, or better, a win bet.

Race 2- the favorite was sucked along in races against 2 of the biggest 2 year olds, did close well, but #2 King of Rock has shown a steady progression, it looks like #8 at 5/2 is too low,but has a chance ,#5 is drawing some wagering money, 4th back was a good race

4 ERICSKARRI impressed me bigtime last week with that effort.Brad Maxwell had this horse as a youngster and he had some kind of ability and class.He had to suffer a major health issue.He plumeted in class and was sold.He is back in the Maxwell barn again and his last I believe was the indicator.He drops here and it should be "lights out", he is the other major play this evening.

WIN 4 at 3-1 or better.

The lights are back on!

Steel is heavier than aluminum, so this change will have him break over slower in front where the change is being made. I assume that J.J could have thought the horse was not grabbing the track as well as he could last week and suggested steel.Sometimes trainers will add borium(or a grab) to the shoe to even break them over even slower.Maybe he thought he is going well enough now to switch back to the way he is usually shod.He may have had a problem that wasn't having him go his best, so they made that change to compensate and help.

It could be NOT A GOOD THING either.He may have not been in sync the way he had been during last weeks race and JJ suggested the change to compensate...I hope not!

I believe this change will only help him tonight.I have MUCH faith in this combo.

Many times horses get infections or absesses that start unnoticeable for weeks sometimes that many times result in cracks.A trainer who generally always uses one standard shoe type may switch to steel to help a horse in early stages of these ailments.A pad is used as well to eleviate soreness,but at the same time adds more weight and for some trotters and this could throw them off.

As a handicapper and one who watches how these animals go when they race.I would believe from what I saw last week that this change WILL ONLY HELP, unless something happened during his time off from his last race.

Let's watch him on the track.

He looks fine jogging unlike the #8 who is dragging his right hind badly.#1 with the shoeing change looked noticeably sore up front in the post parade... anyway.

Broke off the gate.I would love to know what happened to this horse a few years back to stop his progress.His breaking tendendies must have something to do with a pretty bad injury.

Actually I was quite serious. With Mayotte on top at $11.70 to 1 and with 10 and the 8

you hit a nice $194 Exacta and even nicer $1452 Tri. You only need one hit like that to make your day.

Hope you played it and not chickened out at the last moment.

Believe it or not I asked my GS to point to a horse and he pointed out the 5 but I was not convinced so I did not pass it on to you.

I personally stayed away from the race because my horse the #8 went below my required odds. They were betting him as if he was the only horse in the race. He did not disappoint me tho because he lost by only 2/3rd of a length. With the pace so slow it was a really a very good effort. He goes in my VS Stable.

Justin: Your gauranteed percentage of 45% winners for first two horses does not mean much when the % of winning favorites at Mohawk is 40.5%

It is really good at having longshots too though, not just favorites... Mohawk is actually one of the worst tracks for this software!

Top 2 Selections on average of 49%
Top 3, have hit 89%.

ROI for Exactas with top 2 KEYED out front of all 4 selections is 1.18
ROI For Trifectas with Top 2 KEYED With all 4 selections is 1.49

Just some stats... Its not a stab in the dark. I use the software as a Betting Line basis. I also look at the PP's to see what I like and see how it ranks with the Software, and Betting Line, and go from there. I will post 1 full day's selections today....

"Chickening out" is something I very rarely do anymore.I had both exotics, exacta and triple for $1.No win bet because I was just shooting in the dark pretty much.I knew your grandson would pick that winner...LOL!

That was a ridiculous price on that horse #8.A few big underlays in the win hole tonight seen in comparison of the exacta payouts with these horses.
