the jockeys riding the races in SARATOGA for TRAVERS DAY allgave 10% of their share of the winning purses to the DON MACBETH fund in the name of MICHAEL. this was a great jesture on their parts. CHRIS MCCARON started the DONMACBETH charity and runs a golf tournament every year here in MASS, for the benefit of the fund. CHRIS does alot of work for the charity.

not without saying, being a jockey is a very dangerous life, hope MICHAEL STRAIGHT and his family can pull through this tragedy.

Every single race should have a small percentage taken out of the first 3 finishers,Owners,Trainers and jocks shold all be contributing to this case,A 1% take from every single purse would soon add up to help the jocks and also the backstretch workers..The HBPA is taking a percent,Why not something to help all that are injured on the job.HBPA does help but their dollars are a tough squeeze...Makes me sick when I see what them guys make when we pay for them..
