Track is fast and sealed and turf firm but they have a 90% chance of heavy rain between now and 2

they are about to get slammed with rain... assume sloppy and off (even though the course is hard atm)

fyi...They have moved post times up throughout the day.

National Weather Service storm center has a severe thunderstorm "watch" in effect until 7PM for the whole area. That only means you can get 2" of rain in one spot and nothing 10 miles away. It's just summer in upstate NY.

Absolute downpours right now. Accelerated post times for the day. Track went from Fast to Muddy and sealed in about 30 minutes. No post parade for the first. They didn't even hit the track until 4MTP. Local OTB satellites are shorting out regularly. The first truly horrible day of the meet.

No thanks, busted cards are no fun. Pass. Hope tomorrow's forcast is a bit better.

Saratoga has followed the energy parameter guidelines with little alteration, all season long year in year out.

Finding horses that fit those guidelines still win all the time. It is just that there are few standouts amongst those qualifiers.

Rain simply means the speed gets speedier and the "clean silk syndrome" will probably be in effect all day long.

Make that 100%.
I was there - it was biblical.

The rain factor is the only downer of a great meet. It always seems to rain when me and my buddy go to the Spa...We make the best of it and have a great time anyway.
