Just a crazy thought while being bored at work. Instead of guaranteeing that $500,000 for a pick4 pool, why don't they guarantee that the payout will be guaranteed at $400.00? I understand they may have to eat some money, but wouldn't they create more interest in a higher payoff and possibly generate a higher pool?

Let's see.....
When they guarnatee $500K they basically never have to pay a penny.
If they guarantee a $400 payout into a $500K+ pool.......With $400K paid out after takeout, if the Pick 4 pays $100, the track loses $1.2 million.

Not totally serious, like I said bored. Just looking at something a different way. I didn't run any numbers or really think it out.

Do you know how big the pool would be if they guaranteed a 400 dollar payout?
I would bet everything i had on chalk combinations and pray for no big upsets.
