I've been trying to come up with totals that could be generated to give us some idea of the effects of synthetics on the ability of horses to continue racing and how frequently?
I don’t know whether this is a reasonable request of anyone who has access to a database from which the following totals could be generated, but can anyone actually obtain them with relative ease?
A. For each year since 2005, the average and means days between starts following
1. a start on synthetic
2. a start on dirt after at least one prior start on synthetic
3. a start on dirt with no prior starts on synthetic
B. For each year since 2005, the number of horses that have not run
1. since their last start on synthetic
2. since their last start on dirt after at least one prior start on synthetic
3. since their last start on dirt with no prior starts on synthetic.
C. For each year since 2005, the total number of horses that started
1. on synthetic
2. on Dirt
What other totals would have to be generated to give a more complete picture of the effects of synthetics on the ability of horses to continue racing and how frequently?
