Funny Cide gets post 9
Preakness post positions and morning lines odds (post positions number will differ from wagering numbers)
Scrimshaw and Senor Swinger are coupled in the wagering
1 - Cherokee's Boy 15-1
2- A/Scrimshaw 5-1
3 - Foufa's Warrior 20-1
4 - Kissin Saint 20-1
5 - Ten Cents a Shine 15-1 6 - Midway Road 20-1
7 - Peace Rules 8-5
8 - New York Hero 20-1
9 - Funny Cide 7-5
10 - A/Senor Swinger 5-1
Peace rules at 8-5?! So much for my theories of maybe getting a price 7-2 or 4-1. I don't think so.
Even 5-1 on Senior Swinger is cheesy since I don't want Scrimshaw to help me but he lowers the price.
There doesn't look like any price to me.
Helppppp!!!!!!

Originally, I had planned a Funny Cide - Peace Rules cold exacta, but I didn't think it would come up this chalky. I thought that Empire Maker might be favored if he ran, but trying to figure out Sir Bobby isn't easy.
A couple of things have me concerned with Funny Cide. One, he is again shipping late. A move tried by Frankel last year. Two, he draws post 9 with two superior speed horses in the 7 and 8 posts. That to me spells: WIDE TRIP.
Ten Cents a Shine runs a 97 beyer with an 11 wide trip in the Derby. He follows that up with a blistering 46 workout which is freaky for a deep closer. I think this might lead to about a ten point Beyer improvement that puts him right in the race. Magic Weisner style.
When you factor in the connections of Bailey and Lukas I think this makes for a very live horse at a nice price.

Kissin Saint ran a decent race in the Wood and reeled off three in a row before that. He's shown he can run in the mud, he's versatile, and he's at 20-1? An incredible bargain if you ask me...

Cherokee's Boy
Using conventional handicapping techniques only:
Capuano knows just a bit about Pimlico
Ditto Fogelsonger
Speed on the rail excellent advantage
15-1 odds I expect a bet down
Experienced with 12 starts
Won carrying 124 pounds
Can sit just off a very fast pace or be the pace
All the speed to the outside..possible traffic problems
If it turns out wet..look out..390 Tomlinson plus 2 starts 1-0-1
$414k in earnings
Lights out works
Negatives:
Expected fast pace
Breeding?? Citidancer (but distance on the bottom side)
Tends to run 2nd and 3rd alot.
Never put 2 wins in a row before.
I would like to see more experience with Kissin Saint.
I think Ten Cents will get noticed with ultra fast Lukas works plus Bailey. It will take more than an allowance horse and fast works to win this though.

He has put two wins together.

Another Negative...
He's sloooowwww.
At his odds, still worth throwing in the 3 and 4 slots.

"36 year old gelding"--One of the funniest things I've ever read on this site. It takes balls to post it, so to speak. (LOL)
