You are probably playing more than me at this point, so I'll give you 1 a side. ;)

As a middle aged adult with a soon to be 10 year old son, we've just started to play.

Handicap? I don't have one. I just played my first round of 18 holes with a score or 98. You tell me.

I bought a set of Taylor Made Burner plus with included a 3 and 4 hybrid. I had fun with those two clubs today at the practice range. No driver yet and I think it will be a while before I play any coarse where I'd need one. I am using an Odyssey White Hot XG 2-ball putter.

I've started out with the Wilson 2 piece ball.

I bought my son the US Kids Golf 5 club set. And he's using them all (he's had a couple of sets of lessons already).

He's having a good time beating his dad. (But right now I can still hit farther -- and most of the time straighter).

Playing 3 times a week, but probably practicing another 3. I forgot how much I like this game most days.

My enjoyment meter fluctuates by holes, not days. :bang:

It wouldn't be much fun if the ball always went where you wanted it to every hole. :)

Any one have a comment on this book (http://www.amazon.com/Swing-Flaws-Fitness-Fixes-Flexibility/dp/1592404561/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1244060391&sr=1-1) ? As a middle age person, I'm looking to increase my flexibility. During a lesson yesterday, it become clear the main area where I can improve my distance and accuracy is by improving my flexibility. I'm looking to improve my rotation of the hips.

Never read that book, but am trying to improve my flexibility and core after having hip surgery. I've improved my game with a more controlled swing tempo and a week long clinic with these guys:

First year I've tried golf in earnest. Have found that old axiom 'drive for show, putt for dough' somewhat off the mark. If I'm not driving well, the game is less fun and my confidence evaporates. Plus my home course consists mainly of semi-reachable par 4's that some long hitters I play with eat for lunch. For them it's driver..sand wedge..driver..sand wedge. With 30 more yards, I could knock 5 strokes off per side. My driver has a 10.5 loft, and I'm considering an increase to 12.5 or so. My only reservation is that my drives traject high to begin with, so more loft could result in popups. I'm told, however, that the steeper clubface will reduce my slice.
