At least with magic , you know its a trick, but still can't, for the life of you, figure out how its done, no matter how many times you watch it.

Politics is worse, because the illusion being done is presented as real, true substance, with intellectuals putting their stamp of reasons of why its feasible, and since so many are on board to tell you its promise, you go to your grave thinking Politics(magic) is more real than illusion.

Like any Ponzi scheme or Multi-Level Marketing con, sure, the first ones are going to make money and tell their friends of their big check.

But as more and more get on board, their is a diminishing returns.

Time is one of the enemies of ponzi's. Some take longer to show their weakness and be exposed as a con job.

To find out how it usually ends though, check with Maddog Maddoff.

better examples Dodd, Frank, Pelsosi, Reid.....the REAL criminals here.
And oh yes, Obama - stolen more money than Madoff ever though of.
The big difference is, Madoff's victims - ALL o them - had a choice.

Obama's victims ALL of them , have had none.
