A $15 to $20 admission into the racetrack was charged.

They put Churchill Downs to shame on that one.

Does anyone know of a horsey chat board for people who don't have any really serious, endless, reiterated-in-every-possible-thread bitch about synthetic turf?

Dirt track. Oklahoma. Probably quarterhorses, though the story doesn't say. Yes, $20 admission -- and stewards rounded up from the Wagon Wheel Saloon and all runners shipping in on raceday -- so, hey, there might not be ANY takeout.

Also no obsession with pick six carryovers.

I woulda liked to visit this place before 50 cops descended on what was probably the best entertainment value in a panhandle county of just 20,000 people.

I don’t think I could hack the six-horse starting gate. Must’ve been kinda like a Charles Town race after scratches.

Under investigation for a YEAR? Amazing.

Texas County is one of the most remote locales in the contiguous United States. It's amazing they could find 11 racehorses within a 150 mile radius.
