Native Dancer, The Axe II, Hatchet Man, Al Hattab, Skip Away, Decidedly, Pink Pigeon, etc. Who was the best-looking on this list or you can add another grey or roan if you like.

Holy Bull got me into racing, he was always my favorite, with Silver Charm a close second.

The Bid was a powerhouse that had muscles in places that most horses don't even have places. He ran as well as he looked.

Skip Away was a big goodlookin guy

Waquoit was a sight to behold too....big ass, mudfooted, handsome devil

THE grey in NY will always be Evening Attire.

Watch the way his coat changed over the years until he is practically white:

Fio Rito.
Finger Lakes superstar, won the Whitney at Saratoga after breaking through the gate, and followed it up by taking the Michigan Mile at old Detroit Race Course.

An overlay at 2-5 every time he ran here.

Unbridled's Song walked into the paddock at Saratoga towards the end of the meet and was awesome to look at. Winning Colors as well.

My favorite greys that I saw in person were Hatchet Man (won N.O. 'Cap @ FG) and Cozzene (who I saw at Gainesway Farm). Of the ones I admired from afar (via tv) were Spectacular Bid, Holy Bull, and Evening Attire. I was too young to remember Native Dancer but I certainly do admire him a great deal as well as a real retro horse The Tetrarch who I think was called the "spotted wonder horse"?

Not gray but a pure white horse. Posted here rather than starting a new topic since some gray horses are close to white in appearance.

Always nice to see a pretty filly.

...the Maryland grasser

Ops Smile - saw him win the Manhattan at Belmont and was rooting for him when shipped out west for the Breeders Cup

...remembering for some reason that Motion trained him...but could have been someone else

It's very cool to drive by the farm and see him hanging out now, just being a horse. He's foxhunted regularly, and still a gallant grey man. :)
