declared a no contest. The starter open the gates before the last horse was loaded, another flipped in the stall and another lost the rider.

What a mess !!

The former Pha starter, Rusty Downes, got canned for doing the same thing, but in a stakes race. Seems like they hire guys with itchy trigger fingers!

Doc I take it that you did not watch this race. These two horses were NO WHERE close to being in the gate. It is hard to believe somebody could err sooooo badly.

That was a mess. Seems like they are saying a gate malfunction...still delaying the 2nd race at this time.

that could have been very bad..no one was ready to begin, looking around, getting settled in their saddle,etc. First thought was the starter got a thumb twitch, but since they brought in a new gate....
