July 01, 2009 CBS, Helen Thomas Challenge Gibbs On "Controlled" Town Hall Meeting




CBS' Chip Reid and Helen Thomas double teamed Robert Gibbs today at the daily press briefing on the "tightly controlled" town hall meeting President Obama will hold on health care. Gibbs kept saying lets have this discussion AFTER the meeting. Helen Thomas accused the White House of "controlling the press." She said almost all White House/Obama events are "prepackaged." She accused the White House of not "having any answers."

President Obama is heading into stormy waters. His healthcare plans have stalled on Capitol Hill; he is being faulted for a shaky response to the post-election violence in Iran; his job-approval ratings are dropping; and confidence in his handling of the economy is ebbing. The warning signs are enough to worry Democratic strategists that Obama may be sinking into a trough that will sap his influence just when he needs it most.

I believe BO, who has been influenced by left wing radicals his entire life, is a very angry black man who now sees the opportunity to stick it to white corporate America and generally to the white establishment because these two, he thinks, are the nemeses to all blacks. These are the black people's oppressors and always will be, so now it's time to get even. He's not only out to "change the face of America" (his words) -- I believe he's out to disfigure it beyond recognition!
