Betting Win and Key Box Exactas a-bc except*

Balmoral R9.........279 Lady Jane B ~8/1, Mysticole Maggie ~8/1, Return Lane ~10/1
Pretty much the same race as last week so the 5-4-1 who finished 6th,1st,4th make the morning line
but the 2 came a long way from pp10 only missed by a length at 17/1 so I'll box 279* in the exacta

Chester R1..........287 Heart Of Shovey ~12/1, Credit Approved ~5/2, Book Mark ~10/1
Switch to Gingras will kill the price but this mare is sharp enough and over due.

Chester R8..........453 Village Blast ~8/1, My Wagons Dragon ~10/1, John Adams ~5/1
Claimed in last now trained by Josh Green 22% wins in 125 starts 57% ITM
Beaten Fav in last (same class) and ML guy says 8/1 :D

Chester R11.........215 Rucker Place ~10/1, Mattdultery ~7/2, J A'S Outlaw ~5/2
Hard to figure last few races was out classed in 2 and got lost in last? Taking a chance on Catman

Meadows R3..........357 Matt'S Pick ~12/1, Iza Beliver ~6/1, Rummy ~3/1
Rummy with Palone may not be ready, I and don't like the other Mlines *Box these 3 (537) in Exacta

Meadows R9..........312 Master Begonia ~2/1, Son Of Nordic ~20/1, Dangerous Tide ~4/1
No win bet* here (Palone will probably be odds on) just key box exacta

Good Luck All

OK Mel, Good Luck

One in your list I like a lot is Cullens Blue Jean driven by John Wagner.
That last race in 1:53-4, wire to wire at Harrington stands out and
the switch to Wager is no problem for me, usually overlooked at CHST.
Final odds will be interesting to watch.

Key Exacta box with 345

Ray---My M1 picks got bet much more than I expected. Did find value in the pic4 however at $949. :) Had a couple ex's at MEA but got beat by a $100 horse in R13. ;) CHES was a "no go". :(

Chester R8............357 no

Chester 12...........562 no.. poor Cullens Blue, tried to keep up with Gingras 27-2, 27-3, 27-2, 29-4

Just a sidebar but in my early days of betting harness, before simulcasting even existed, you had only 1 track to bet and had to be there to bet it. Information was scarce to the general public so I learned from the oldtimers how to "Sharpshoot the Show Pool" by watching the tote and looking for oddities. Backside (barn) money usually went on the nose leaving overlays in the place or show pools.

I was watching the tote on my pick in the 11th at Chester, he went off 2nd or 3rd fav with $1200 bet to win but only $34 to show, a case of barn money or one high roller if there ever was one? Too bad Catman wound up 7° at the 1/4 pole

Chst
Win pool 7940
Place 2491
Show 1244
Exacta 7000

Hey Ray,

Was there barn money on the 8 as well? He paid 8.00 to place and $14.80 to show. This was an odd payoff coming in with the favorite.

Guys

Of all the threads on here I enjoy you guys the most.

I don't know a darn thing about these trotters but maybe someday, who knows.

At 16/1 in the win pool, the 8 has a right to have a good show price but that is higher than expected, also due to the low amount bet on the 2 to show.

I think this is the year of odd "odds". Can't recall when there's been so many $100+ winners:confused:

ddog---There is a new harness book out by Dave Browner of the Meadowlands. Good for someone starting to look at harness. A review of the book by Bob Pandolfo is a ustrotting.com under the "pandycapping" icon on the left of screen. Also at the same web site "Pandy" has a lot of free and very good articles. If your interested. :)
