My Little Margie

Overlooked in the recent rash of celebrity deaths was the passing of Gale Storm Saturday at the age of 87.A fine singer with hit records,she is best remembered for her role in "My Little Margie",a very popular TV comedy in the Fifties about a ditzy 21 yr old single woman and her patient father.Most of you are not old enough to recall her,but for those of us that do,she will be remembered fondly.

Robert Klein did a short bit on My Little Margie on one of his earlier records (Child of the '50's) back in the mid '70's (when there were more people who might have watched and remembered the show). (I think he mentioned that they had just started showing reruns of it again at that time.) I recall him describing Margie as the first television heroine on speed, with the metabolism of a hummingbird, and having to eat three times her body weight every day in order to survive, because of the frenetic pace that she always maintained.

I didn't realize she "passed" Totally ignored in the media. I remember my Little Margie and the later show. I also enjoyed her records.
