Century dream series

I just listened to the century dream series classic on the bris site,and noted that as expected the mighty speeds Fager and Slew dueled each other into defeat.But I thought "What if" one of them was a late scratch,could even the mighty Secretariat reel in a loose on the lead Fager or Slew?This would be a task akin to the labors of Hercules.I think no,but then again Big red was Hercules.

what distance?? That makes all the difference in the answer.

Yeah...distance makes a difference, also...equal weights?...IMHO, Big Red beats Slew, regardless of distance at equal weight...now Fager is a different story...he was a demon on 4 legs...but, at a distance better than 7 furlongs...Big Red catches him...or goes with him and beats him anyway.
