people can do whatever they want. i just think its amusing that people leave countries to come here, then want to celebrate those countries.

plus i hate parades, they are annoying and they screw up traffic. Somebody gets hurt or has to have an ambulence ride and the ambulence has to take some slower roundabout way that is slower and more congested because we have to block off streets so people can party in the streets.

That 50% of Americans hate the politics of the other 50% is very sad for your once admired country. 100% of Americans have to work together to get out of the current mess. To us the Republicans are extreme right and Democratics far right, so as a Christian Socialist free thinking Liberal I could not care less about either.
If we have the "media rights" to English, then you would certainly owe us several $B in royalties though.

If what you say is true, Robert, then I agree with you 100%. Why would anyone in his right mind ridicule someone else for using a language tool (no matter how unconventional it might seem) that would further their education in a language? That's absurd on the face on the face of it.

This is because the other 50%, i.e.[true] conservatives are extremely reluctant to compromise away our individual liberties because every time we do, we make the state more powerful. Neither statists or the state ever, ever, ever compromise away their power. There is zero upside to freedom lovers when trying to compromise good with evil -- freedom with tyranny.

And with respect to those "media rights", I would have to think that with interest and out-of-court settlements for plagiarizing another country's language, the tab would come to the trillions -- not mere billions.
