i think the reason we have obama as president and will continue to move towards socialism is because most voters today are takers and take more than they contribute to the tax coffers.
about one-third of the workers are in the public sector and make a living off the taxpayers, and another third of the population gets some kind of government entitlement or assistance, so that leaves a minority of the people to carry the load.

unfortunately most of us can't afford to do that :( of course if the mortgage people shut down too, i guess my rent wont be due. but then if the grocery stores and restaurants and farms all close, we'll all go hungry, damn
