8 horse field at Arlington

Maiden race

1. 15-1
2. 7-1
3. 7-5
4. 7-1

Ex pays 85.10
Super pays 2034.30

Tri only paid $189.00. It seems very light to me, anyone think differently or can rationalize this to me?

The horses that did not finish in the money were 3-1, 10-1,11-1,6-1. The horse that won was the longest shot in the field.

Didn’t see the pps but thought it also interesting that the first two finishers were firsters. May have been some stable action. ??

Two program favorites ran second and third. Three inside horses in the last race. I'm assuming an inside bias was established. Maybe a newspaper or track handicapper picked the box. Only an eight horse race.
That being said, because of the exactor price, a one dollar tri could have paid as much as $300. The super may have been on the high side, but the tri did pay on the low side, but it wasn't overly outrageous.

Sounds like $1 payouts to me since Arlington doesn't have nickel breakage.

Looks like a lot of people keyed the 7-5 in all 3 positions of the tri.
I don't think that payout is out of line.

That's a brutal payoff. If you had it I feel for you.

Yes, that is what I did. I thought it would pay more despite that.

That tri was nothing more than a glorified exacta with the 7-5 running third in an eight horse field. Decent payoff actually.
