Huge longshot wins at Saratoga

I think this is the highest win payoff I've ever witnessed: $486.10 for Nuclear Heat (#8) in the 13th race at Saratoga. The horse had $7 to win on it, out of a total win pool of $2075.

I personally couldn't play that horse or that track, but in defense of your pick, he wasn't the best nor was he remotely the worst, his last 1/4 was as good as any of those oinkers....

I did see either last year or in late 2007 a horse at Chester pay over $600 to win.

I wish I could say I had, but I didn't bet the horse at all - not to win, to place, or to show. It had $7 to win, $4 to place, and $2 to show on it.

Not that it matters much, but it's strange that SuperTote (source of the payoffs .jpg I attached above) and The Racing Channel (http://www.racingchannel.com/archives/SGH/2009/06/SGH090618.HTM) have the the win payoff as $486.10 and the place payoff as $56.10, while the USTA Story (http://www.ustrotting.com/absolutenm/anmviewer.asp?a=32271&z=1) says $486.00 to win. The US Trotting Chart (http://racing.ustrotting.com/%28mzk0av45ozksp4i2kvdnbo55%29/chart.aspx) has also $486.00 to win and $56.00 to place. Wonder where SuperTote and The Racing Channel got the extra dimes?

The USTA story mentions the previous highest win price at Saratoga ($406.50). I posted (http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53271) about that one back in December (with the same thread title!).

The USTA article was a press release by Mike Sardella of Saratoga Raceway.
