A theme of Coburn's work is that money is going toward dubious projects that will leave little imprint. One project mentioned is the $3.4-million construction of a 13-foot tunnel near Tallahassee, Fla., that will allow turtles and other wildlife to safely cross U.S. Highway 27.

The report said the area "has the highest road-kill mortality rate for turtles in the world."

I had a turtle years ago. He got out of his box and was run over in the roadway next to my home.

He is nothing but a former shell of himself. :eek:

of course this money is going to all of the little dumb projects that many of these state official have had laying around for years, i'm sure someone in Florida will now win reelection because they have the turtle lovers vote.

Our hospital got $30,000 in stimulus money to buy 2 pediatric crashcarts. I thought that was nice except we didn't need a pediatric crashcart. We couldn't use the money for anything else. :bang:

Looks like they don't wanna hare any more about it.
But a sop told me who won that race.
