Hastings Race 3...5 horse race, no show wagering. 97% of place pool on favourite. Place pool was about $58000 (way way more than usual). Horse won easily, but still interesting.

I'd love to know where these bets come from. It would be interesting to know how the big bettor pulls off this kind of play. Does he go to a bank and take out a large amt of cash and head to the track and pluck it down on the counter?

It's interesting that the second place horse payed $3.90 to place...

Does this mean that there wasn't a minus pool? I can never figure that out?

You would think if there was that much money on one horse to place, that the first and second horse would both pay $2.10.

In the old days it would be 2.10 and 2.10, but with that changed with the net pool pricing they use now.

The venue that takes the bet is liable for the minus pool. 4NJBETS would not take show betting on the 9th tonight. I am sure other places did not offer it as well.

Net pool pricing is a great deal for people who try to beat these Bridgejumper specials.
