Craps Player Sets Record at The Borgata

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) -- A record-setting night for one gambler in Atlantic City.

While playing craps at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa on Saturday night, Patricia Demauro of Denville set a new record for the longest craps roll by hanging on for four hours and 18 minutes. Borgata officials said that bested the previous mark of three hours and six minutes, set nearly 20 years ago at a Las Vegas casino.

Demauro bought into a game for $100 at about 8:13 p.m. and quickly amassed a large crowd of cheering supporters. When she eventually "sevened out'' around 12:31 a.m., after 154 rolls of the dice, she was greeted by Borgata with a champagne toast.

"This was only my second time playing craps, so this was very exciting for me to be a part of history," she said.

The casino would not disclose how much Demauro won during her stretch at the table.

Have been unable to find out how many passes she made.It takes 3 1/3 rolls of the dice,on average, for each decision. At 154 rolls, that means she made perhaps 42-48 passes, incredible. That table must have been very, very busy, with players stacked 3 or 4 deep, for only 154 rolls in 4 plus hours. An average crap table will often get in that many rolls an hour. That Hawaiian guys record roll 20 years ago at the California in Downtown Las Vegas has been trounced. The real winner will be the Borgata, they have received publicity that no amount of money could buy. Many will play there, thinking that they might do it too.It may come out later how much the table dropped, but on a roll like that,it could be as much as a quarter million or so.The small number of total rolls may have been caused,in part, because the game had to be stopped several times in order to get a new fill from the pit,the players having all the checks.

When I saw the 4.5 hr hand, I thought she must have rolled 600x! The house tends to really "slow" the dice down during a hot hand, so I'm sure the dice were "crawling", but still an incredible feat. If the house "only" lost a quarter of a million on that roll they could consider themselves LUCKY!! ;)

If one of you guys would just hit an all time record payoff pick 6 am quite sure that it would get ink all over the gambling world, even on the casino gambling forums.
