Wonder why they would change a horse's equipment in a big race like the Preakness and can't hel but wonder if it hurt him. He sure was one rank horse

I thought Velasquez should have let him run early and clear. Velasques was playing games by moving off the rail early causing some of the others to take hold. I don't know if he couldn't help it but it didn't look right to me. I don't think anyone was going to beat Rachel anyway. Mine The Bird ran great too and with a little more luck on the turn for home he may have caught her. Overall it was a chalky day and that is never good for me!

I think they knew they didn't have a shot with blinkers, b/c Big Drama would have gone to fast too soon, as it was he made a good finish. His two best 100+ Beyers were on 7furlong races, and he was only mid 90's at over a mile. I guess that was the gamble they were willing to take.
