View Full Version : How to undermine a nation

I've said this before, if a person set out with the intention of putting the US on a path to ruin, you could hardly do much better than Obama. This article from The Spectator (http://spectator.org/archives/2009/05/15/obama-the-destroyer)sums it up pretty well.

The whole piece is good but I particularily like the summation paragraph;

"In short, to undermine the United States, the president would, as fast as possible, create a massively debt-ridden, tax-ridden, regulation-ridden government whose prosecutors play political favorites but whose stances on the world stage are marked by weakness, self-criticism, and solicitousness towards one's enemies."

Whether it is intentional or simply misguided ideology can be debated. However I challenge anyone to tell me how the actions taken so far can be construed as laying the groundwork for a stronger, better America. There has been no uniting of the country as advertised, instead he has targeted certain parts of the population for ridicule or worse if they stand in his way.

With a team anchored by Obama / Pelosi / Reid , could we expect anything more . The only thing more shameful are the guilty ones that put them in power . Not so much the voters , but the brains behind the conspiracy to bring this nation down , and manipulate those that voted so blindly .

Obama will succeed where Osama failed.

Does it really matter who destroys us?

most voters wanted change, they are getting it, hence why most people are happy with obama thus far.

most voters wanted change, they are getting it, hence why most people are happy with obama thus far.The Cubans wanted change when they had Batista.....then along came Fidel. Shoveling billions down a rathole is not going to make things any better. Those who voted this bunch in bear the reponsibility.

Lincoln was sure right when he said that you could fool some of the people all of the time. These are the ones that insist that Obama is not a Socialist.Same bunch thought that Fidel and Mao were "agrarian reformers".

Sell it off to the whims of foreign investment in both labor and financial back up so a few fat cats can retire to their clandestine islands around the world.

I think George Bush set out to destroy the country and he damn near succeeded.
1) Terrorist attack on this country on his watch
2) Expanded the government bureaucracy to an unprecedented level
3) Put the cost of the Iraq war off the books so that the next administration would have to figure out how to pay for it
4) Economy went to hell on his watch
5) Asked Congress to handed out billions of public money to private banks

I think George Bush set out to destroy the country and he damn near succeeded.
1) Terrorist attack on this country on his watch - and none since - the attack was developed under CLINTON's watch.
2) Expanded the government bureaucracy to an unprecedented level You mistake him for OBama.
3) Put the cost of the Iraq war off the books so that the next administration would have to figure out how to pay for it Then OBama came along and dwarfed that cost, so s the next GENERATIONS would have to figure out how to pay for it.
4) Economy went to hell on his watch And sunk even lower on Obama's, but you forget, the economy was great until the dems took over congress and started the crisis. Remeber Dodd, Frank, the real culprits?
5) Asked Congress to handed out billions of public money to private banks And then Obama came along and asked for TRILLIONS, and made George look like spendthrift....

My point is that Obama is not the antichrist and Bush was no saint. Most of the things that conservatives like to complain about Obama—Bush already did—in spades. Terrorist attack on our soil—on Bush's watch. Run up massive budget deficits—on Bush's watch. Big government—biggest expansion of government since LBJ (no child left behind, and Medicare prescription drug program being two notable examples). Tax increase—say what you want about the war, but by putting the cost off the books, he almost guaranteed that a future administration would have to raise taxes to pay for it.

This country is in bad shape. I think we will rebound. The financial and housing markets will rebound. A cooperative spirit and lack of hysteria will hasten our rebound

SOME things, but not even close. Obama is a total fool and he is going to destroy this economy. To save 3,000 Chrysler UNION jobs, he ended 150,000 dealership jobs and drove small businesses under. And guess what, dealerships are not cost centers for the automakers. They are CUSTOMERS.
Closing dealerships is just plain stupid. But then, so are dems.

A cooperative spirit

 . Oh, so THAT'S what's oozing from your post --- a spirit of cooperation. Okay. I was just befuddled for a moment by the smell.
