At 12-1 Papa Clem offers the most value in the Preakness. Anyone agree?

I thought he got a perfect trip at Oaklawn behind a fast pace and that inflated his number out of that race. You will get a price but I would need a lot more than 12-1 to use him.

Good Luck in the race though!

Only if you liked him to begin with. Then, and only then are odds of 12-1 value !!

He was cooked and very weary in the Ark Derby. He barely got the 9fur. He still hasn't shown me he can go beyond that. Let's just say, I'm not convinced. Truthfully, if it rains, I think you have to go with Mine that Bird and throw Terrain into the exacta.

I suppose this why I love Horse racing. Everyone has an opinion and can find ways to support it. We will find out Saturday. Good Luck to all.

my play is a cold-conque exacta--------rachel alexandra/friesen fire.

Dont like him at all here. 3rd race in 5 weeks, with both of those being much larger efforts than anything he has done previously. He will be out of gas in the stretch IMO.

What do you think Papa Clem's odds will be at 5 MTP?

Not at all. Fresian Fire has tons more rest overall, plus a non-effort in the Derby. POTN has more rest than Papa Clem before the Derby and his line is much more consistent and much less jumpy. And yes, Big Drama should be considered a contender as well IMO, especially on a sloppy track on the rail. There are 3 horses right there that I would bet well before I would Papa Clem.

Musket man had a much harder trip in the Derby and still beat him.

Papa Clem is a nice horse, but, he's not gonna win a tough stakes race. Good for exotics as he always shows up.

Beyond Rachel I see Big Drama and Pioneer as the "best of the rest". The best I can see for Clem is the bottom of the super....maybe.

Just got an email that PapaClem worked 5f in 1:05. That should keep him at 12-1.

He is suppose to blowout tomorrow.......if he goes good in that then I would probably use him.........remember he blew out very fast the week of the derby.......

Heard it was very heavy before the renovation break.
