Wow....that horse did stand out but someone took a huge powder....did the 1 get a bad trip?

I don't think the 1 got a call till the stretch where he made up a bunch of ground to get up for 4th.

Toussaud:

I had a good laugh at the photo you posted in this thread...thanks :D. And no, I didn't bet the race. To any PA member who hit any of the big show prices in this race in question, please accept my congratulations.

I had the 6 for 41.60 (a number of times)....but I had the 1 singled in my pick 3, lol. Oh well.

The bridge jumper fired his bullets one race too early. Katnik controlled the next race and was seemingly (to me) as much of a standout.

Thank you. I played 4, 5 and 6 to show.

I figured I'd take a shot against a horse that had never run on dirt and never run at night.

The rest of my day sucked so this helped a little...

The 1 horse only stood out if you thought his synthetic form transferred to dirt. Unfortunately for me, I bet the winner...to win. DOH!

I played the race and covered three horses other than the favorite to win. I did not play the show pool and came away empty handed as none of my three won. I knew something was up when the announcer stated "hold for these show prices".

Question for those who follow Mountaineer. I remember last autumn, especially in October, there was a spate of bridgejumping money in the show pools. Seemingly it was becoming a common occurence. My impression was that it had died down. Is it starting to happen with more frequency or is it more of a once in awhile, or random, event? I only ask because I love the opportunities minus show pools create when you feel you can make a case against the horse taking all the money.

BTW Toussard, had a good chuckle from the photograph.

I think Mountaineer has a minimum payout of $2.20 instead of the usual $2.10. If you're a jumper you get twice the payout you get elsewhere so it's tempting I guess.

I know. I believe this is true for tracks in the states of West Virginia and Massachusetts. You'll see the $2.20 minimum payout at Chucktown and Suffolk as well.
