I like the sentence "my Vet is better than yours"
Sort of sums it all up

Around here they have a couple of horseracing radio talk shows on primarily on the weekend. The radio guests are usually horseracing "hardboots" who have been around the game for their whole life.
Recently such a "hardboot" called some of these Derby "contenders" ---"box horses". This means that they only real reason they are entered in the Derby is for the prestige primarily in that all of the owners of a horse in the Derby receive a owner's box for the day. These boxes are harder to get than free gold. It is very political. Having walked in front of the boxes at CD, it is a who's who of the horseracing world.
And they want to be seen. If I ever had that shot, I think I might do the same. After all, anything can happen in a horse race right?
