You're right, that is an oddity.

Another coincidence I realized after the race, and this is a bit weird, is the fact that 3 horses who were featured during the Animal Planet Jockeys series would subsequently win important races. Well Armed/Aaron Gryder would win the Dubai World Cup; Orthodox/Jon Court would win the American Turf at Churchill this past Friday paying huge; and finally Mine That Bird would win the KY Derby, also paying telephone numbers.

Anyone who watched that series will remember Chantel Sutherland was a focul point of this series, and there was much discussion during the program about her chances to win the BC Juvenile onboard this horse who she had had much success with at Woodbine, Mine That Bird. Over a televised dinner with Chantel, boyfriend Mike Smith, and Chantel's parents, there was a conversation about what her real chances actually were. If I remember right Mike thought they were slim to none.
