Anyone know why Zenyatta didn't race at CD?

Apparently the connections didn't want to take a chance on an off-track.

This thread is not very nice...

I'm heading to the lake for the long weekend, making plans to meet up with folks on the water, and trying to schedule it around Zenyatta's race.

I read the first couple posts in this thread without looking at the date posted, and almost changed my plans...

Looking forward to the race today.

Wow, i didn't realize that Rachel won her Oaks on a sloppy track. It looked dry to me.

Or, was Zenyatta scheduled to race on Derby Day?

Zenyatta has done everything anyone could dream for.
She's 9 for 9 in the win department. Unbelievable.
The morning workouts are absolutely scintillating.
Undoubtedly she'll be on everybody's dance card.
But....is she vulnerable today?
That was a 7 month layoff for a trainer who wins with 12 % of his stock when away for over 180 days.

Not sure of the track conditon at the time of the race, but here is why she scratched...

TheLast year's champion older female Zenyatta has been scratched from the $350,000 Louisville Distaff (gr. II) May 1, it was confirmed by the Churchill Downs racing office. 4-5 morning-line favorite, Zenyatta (http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/thoroughbred/zenyatta/2004?source=BHonline) was scheduled to make her 5-year-old debut at Churchill Downs, but due to heavy rain in Louisville, Ky., that caused the track to become sloppy, trainer John Shirreffs decided to postpone her first race of the year.
