Desert Party has always done his best on tracks with moisture in them and disappointed on fast tracks. Something to consider in your master plan. Gotta help a fellow Brooklynite!

Friesan Fire could go off the chalk if it's sloppy...and Al is right that Desert Party is the other horse that will get extra attention on an off strip.

whenever it has been somewhat rainy i always think the track will change a bit but it always dries fast ... however this year it seems to be raining over the entire midwest and heavily. With 3 days of rains and 70% chance the day of the big race, it really hurts me to see this crap happen.

We follow these horses for so long and then --- an off track upon which 5 of 20 have won, and none of the good ones, except for Friesan or Clem.

geeze...I've been away all day and this is bad news...on another thread I see Sherriff's will scratch Zenyatta if it's slop...
I love Friesan Fire, but I hate, hate, hate a muddy track for this race:mad:

No problemey for me. If Churchill was Poly Crap, I would be through with horse racing. For those that know me, they no that is fact and not a promise.

If the Derby comes up sloppy can we discount deep closers and only look at those that will be within 3 lengths or less coming around the final turn?

pretty much as when the track is sealed it will be kind to
the pace setters or pressers and the last time there was a
sloppy sealed track SMARTY JONES tracked in 3rd and overtook
Lion Heart and the rest was history.
Before that GO FOR GIN on the lead in 94.

$1 triple box: Friesan Fire, General Quarters, Nowhere to Hide, Atomic Rain

Good Luck to all!

i am not changing my plan at all only a few of these horses have ever raced on a sloppy track.... you can have all the wet track pedigree you want but if your outclassed and not fast enough you will not win.......

exacta:1,7,13/1,2,6,7,12,13,15...also reversed

trifecta:13/1,2,6,7/1,2,6,7,12,15...using same horses with 13 in second and third slots also

FF is getting way overbet because of the potential of wet. I don't think wet really moves him up as much as a horse like Desert Party. He's certainly ok with it, but some seem to be acting like the rain will hand him the race
