Just watched Kona Gold beat Caller One in a thrilling stretch drive. Whew!
And he comes back to applause (now you know this race was not run in NY!).
That's what this game is all about. Not worth a bet at the odds but who cares? This was the best meeting the best as far as sprinters go.

Hey now! Wait just one second. The most rousing applause I have EVER heard at the racetrack (it gave me goosebumps!) for a horse was when HOLY BULL won the Woodward at Belmont. To me, it was louder and more sincere than the applause that CIGAR got at Belmont the following year.

PS John Velasquez got a nice round of applause after he won the last race of the Belmont meet today, and subsequently won the Belmont riding title by one winner over Edgar Prado.....

I remember Forego getting big applause when he was just touring the track after he retired in the '70s. He wasn't even racing!

I remember hearing a lot of boo's from the Dubai crowd as Dettori brought Best of The Bets back to the paddock in the World Cup. Does that count?
