Sunday in Wellington, FL, located in Palm Beach County, 14 horses collaped and died prior to a U.S. Open Polo Championship match.

Several more horses are ill.

I cant imagine the horror this day as spectators and vets tried to help these animals.Its very sad to lose 1 horse ,Never mind 21.Hopefully they will get to the bottom of this and find out what happened. My heart goes out to all the people who cared for these animals..Very sad

From the article...seems the Polo people need to be regualted also...'milshakes' are common...I swear...what is wrong with people:mad:
I hope they find the cause of this so it won't ever happen again...very, very sad.


At the highly competitive level of the Wellington tournament, distributing "cocktails" to horses prior to matches to enhance their performance is a common practice, said several polo experts. The steroid-like chemicals are given to horses mixed with their water or can be administered by needle, the sources said.

yes...the pharmacy admits to a major screw up:mad: ...I see many law suits in the aftermath of this tragedy.
