Can somebody confirm that the connections will again pick the post positions for this year's derby?

yes, they are still having the two-step process they have used for the last decade or so. However, it will not be on ESPN, they dropped the show like they did with the KY Oaks day coverage.
Instead, Churchill Downs officials will draw the order of selection in the racing office late Wed. morning before the Derby. Then around lunchtime, they will have the owner's post selection in a place they call the Marquee Village, which is somewhere around the end of the clubhouse past the finish line. I heard it will be on TrackNet's simulcast feed and the TwinSpires.com website, as well as on tv locally in Louisville.
