Here is a newbie question so be patient. :)

Some tracks say it's a $1 exacta pool and some say $2 exacta pool on the tote. Let's assume that the payoff number for a entry combo is 100. If it's a $1 pool and I bet $2, I assume I get back $202 ( the winnings plus my original bet amount ). If it's a $2 pool and I bet $2 do I get $402 back? If not what do I get back?

Now if I would just win some more I could find out myself and not have to ask :(

if it's a dollar pool and you bet 2, you will get back 200. you money back is included in the payoff

So if it's a $2 pool do I get back $400?

no, if it's a 2 dollar pool and you bet 2, you'll get back 200. It's payoff info, not odds.

I have been doing this for 20 years and you guys just confused me.

If the Exacta pays $200 for a two dollar bet, then if you bet one dollar the payoff is halved to $100.

If the Exacta pays $200 for a one dollar bet then if you bet two dollars the payoff is doubled to $400.

Well I don't know if that explanation helps or hinders.
