With 1,000's of Casino employees in jeopardy of losing jobs, will Obama stimulate the gambling industry?

I would think there would be a line on him.

Things seem tough here for a lot of people. Last week the huge MGM City Center project was on the brink of going under...but got saved for the time being. Had it gone under....8000 workers would have lost their current jobs, and the 12,000 future jobs would have vanished. My community has about a dozen homes up for sale. rbj

Yeah, Obama's a big help. Remember when he told big business not to hold their business meetings in Vegas. Many cancellations. Big help. Thanks, Mr Prez.
dog, explain the 2 plans mentioned or a link, please.

Fasb is the account standards board, it seems they will allow holders of Vegas debt to "account" for their holdings using their "best judgement" as to the future value of same, thus banks should be able to re state their holdings on the properties , etc; in Vegas to make them look good on the books and all over creation for that matter. That takes the heat off the banks, makes them look good and thus the banks are able to float more against Vegas and /or postpone any actions since we all know the Vegas assests are a cash flow positive , right? Right-o.

Timmay - the same , just using more taxpayer money to make the gvt the bagholder for bad assests , to clear those things so banks and other lenders can get back to lending again. Yippeeee!!!

presto chango, everythings great, people go back to living large on the card and all is right with the world.

up up and away baby!!!!!!!!!

free money for all. BUT , the chicks are never "free"!

on the cancels, any business that didn't draw in the horns in the last year is nuts , with or without the bama , that was going to and had to happen.

it's a tempest in a tea pot in the large scheme.
