Daddy'O, are you and your friend Beck the Advanced Party for Cj? If so, it's a very smart play.

Wishing all of you good health, safety and many winners.

someone should contact the track about this. it would be cool to get him up in the booth with jeff g for a special guest handicapping segment or something.

anyone else going to try and make it??

 Yes, I thought that you'd be delighted by Dad's invitation.
We call that a "gotcha" in golf.

Can I get a Mulligan?

In other news, I'm not sure I can ever visit a CT booth without Costy in it.

If you can take a Mulligan after a "gotcha" on the golf course, you're a better man than me.

well the hawk was somewhat prophetic there because i actually did not get much sleep, but nonetheless the card is handicapped and i'm off to meet these legends of pace handicapping. if i can keep my car from stopping at divas on the way into ct i should make first race pooooooosssssstime with plenty of room to spare!!

ok p.a. friends, i'm back from my night at ct w/the 1st family of pace!!

* after my last post on the thread yesterday i take off for ct and arrive in good time. on the two mile walk from the parking garage (through the casino) to the track i trip over a slot machine and actually win $9. this never happens. so far so good.

*i buy a voucher  and attempt to bet the first at pen. (#9 tied for my 3rd choice 15-1 off odds) however the player in front of me is trying (and not too quickly) to type in some kind of pick 5 or something. they finally get the bet made in time for me to bet but then my voucher "short reads" (whatever that means). no need to look up the result.

* still have my $9 from the casino though and head to the bar to meet mr m's friend tracy who cards me (god bless her) before serving me the first of many jack and cokes. throughout the night tracy always remembers what i'm drinking, but can't remember that i'm over 20 and keeps carding me!!

* i spot a table with a computer and a bunch of printouts. "that has to be the milkowski table" i say to tracy who confirms my suspicions and tells me that cj's dad is running a tab!!

*tab? i quickly whip out my i.d. (again).

*over by the table i spot a guy with a kung fu death grip on some pacefigures.com (tm) pps. "excuse me sir, but i'm a novice handicapper and need some advice about pace figures," i say. :D

*in attendance cj, cj's friend beck who was running horse in the 5th,cj's dad, the beautiful mrs cj (first name only know by "inner circle" members), and the high rolling track collector whose name i shorten to "tc."

* mr beck's horse "ghost harbor" is scratched at the gate in the 5th and in the 6th i got my only opportunity to have my figure handicapping checked by the master. i had handicapped it 2-1. 3 was being bet off the board. i bit my lip, "uh, they're really betting this 3 huh?" i held my breath. "they're betting this 3 because of a great trainer named gary capuano son," cj said.... BUT "i have the 1 and 2 also" he said......:jump: fortunately my voucher didn't short read this time as the 1-2 rolled in for $35 with mr capuano's horse back in 3rd.

****have to get back out to the track for now, but overall it was great to meet these people. sometimes the posts can get pretty intense on this forum, but they were actually really laid back in person. cj's dad and tc have both visited tons of tracks and it was cool to hear their experiences. unfortunately the night went pretty fast though and i didn't get to ask cj too much about the figures and the game and it would've been cool to get a peak at tc's computer program also. sorry more people couldn't make it out.....

I'm against the posting of pictures like this. After all, it ruins the visual I had of CJ's Dad as this crazy old kook and CJ as a nerdy computer geek. The guys in this picture look too well adjusted and normal. I think we've been had.... :)

personally i'm about as far from "well adjusted and normal" as you can get.... so i guess looks can be deceiving!! the milkowski's were pretty cool though, you'd probably like them if you met them in real life...

I have to say all of those in the picture look very normal and sane. Old Daddy"O looks to have sired a good one and I'm sure the rest of his herd is of the same quality.

I would like to personally thank Cj and the rest of his generation, which have served our country faithfully. Heck, all generations which have served! Semper Fidelis to all my fellow Marines.

Hope to meet you guys in person one day. Meanwhile Cj, keep those winners coming.
