Two, not just one, but two maiden 10 year olds are starting today.
One in the first race (Mivtzar). And then in the 7th, Cruisin Memo.

And both are just making their second lifetime starts.

Things that make you say WTF.

That Memo runner was 5-1 in his first start...He'll be 30-1 or higher in this one. He's carrying 8 pounds less..You should throw a couple bucks on him..If he wins..When will you ever get to say. I just won a bet on a 10 year old mdn.

The odds in this race are crazy to say the least..The 3 who does look best on paper is 1/9 with 5mtp..This will be his 18th try at breaking his mdn..

I'm not betting it..But if I was...:1::2::6::7::8::9:to win...double up on the 9

Speaking of Turf Paradise, I would like to send out my heartfelt congratulations to my good friends Craig and Lynn Lanham (Craig was co-author of my first book) and trainer Troy Smith on winning the Coyote Stakes (the 5th race today) with Goin Dancin who stopped the timer in an impressive 114 and change for the 6.5 furlong distance . For the longest time you couldn't run a 5 year old maiden in Ontario. I'm not sure when they were allowed ( I think Fort Erie allowed them first), because time flies once you hit 33.

back in the mid 90's (?) one of those Jersey tracks (garden state?) had a Mad finnally win after 85/86 races.

That used to be a common rule among many tracks.

Lots of tracks still say on their stall applications that 5 year old maidens or older will not be allotted stalls.
