On Saturday March 28th, at 11:00am the Iowa Horsemen’s Benevolence and Protection Association in conjunction with the Iowa Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association will be hosting a job fair at Prairie Meadows racetrack for all those interested in working the Thoroughbred horse racing industry.
Those wishing to attend should meet at Prairie Meadows’ South entrance to register with their name and phone number before being transported to the stable area.
The purpose of this event is to show prospective employees a typical day as a backside worker. We will demonstrate how to properly care for a Thoroughbred race horse including, grooming, stall cleaning, handling, and tacking.
Children and prospective employees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
A list of potential employees that want to work for trainers of Thoroughbreds at this seasons’ race meet will be compiled and distributed to interested trainers.
Space is limited and those that have pre-registered will have preference.
