Can I get a prop bet that he winner of today's Irish O'Brien will have a sire of Unusual Heat?

I have a friend who is a breeding expert. He has written books.
He claims that Unusual Heat is such a terrific sire, because he is not cross bred or inbred like most other thoroughbreds these days.
UH stands in California, where he is bred to mostly cheap mares, but still gets plenty of good runners, turf and synthetic.

As I recall, his get did fairly well at DMR last year. Does your friend have any insight as to his potential to become a sire of runners for the AWS?

According to Bloodhorse.com
Unusual Heat is the: 2009 LEADING TURF SIRE IN AMERICA
2009 LEADING SYNTHETIC SIRE IN AMERICA
2009 3rd LEADING ALL AROUND NATIONAL SIRE IN AMERICA

He seems to have especially game fillies. They often act very unruly in the paddock , but if any Unusual Heat looks sharp in the eye and sharp over all appearance, bet against them at your own risk. In Cal bred races?
They pretty much have a license to steal.

Thanks, Diane. I wasn't aware of the stature that Unual Heat had obtained. Wow!

I'm sure we'll be watching the Del Mar entries this summer for the Unusual Heats, DJ :jump:
Sometimes you get really good prices on them!

Barry Abrams is going to eat a lot of Steaks off of his piece of this one.
