We heard 4 of them went over last week. Interesting.
A handicapping friend in Texas suggests that they possibly could be checking out ProRide or another synthetic track surface........seems odd, since the news is they are closing the place down to be developed. However, my friend reminds me that there is no money right now or in the near future to be developing that property and he is right.
Their cushion surface was wearing out last fall. Very interesting.
Anyone have any other theories?

if they are going to moonee valley then they are looking at the strathayr turf course.

if they are going to geelong then they are checking out the all weather ThoroughTrack.

they also could be going to sunshine coast racecourse to see how they are managing the course. they have the same cushion track. sunshine coast had problems in 2008 so they are probably seeing how they are properly managing it now.

with the whole money situation id say sunshine coast.

thoroughtrack is the best and is now being installed all over australia but would hollywood park purchase another surface?

Interesting, juanepstein

I'll try to find out where they were. As far as I know it wasn't let out to the press, but it may have been, if anyone reads about it, please post.
I question, as you do, their ability to purchase it, but who knows.
Wasn't there a recent article that Bay Meadows was in receivership?
California is pretty hard pressed to develop much of anything but more debt these days.
