Newt Gingrich blasted conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh on "Meet the Press" Sunday, saying Limbaugh crossed the line when he publicly said he hoped President Barack Obama's administration would "fail."

"You've got to want the president to succeed," Gingrich said on the program.

"I don't think anyone should want the president to fail," the former Speaker of the House said in an obvious dig at Limbaugh.

Gingrich said Limbaugh's comments last week were "irrational" because any American citizen - no matter what their party affiliation - should hope for a strong government."

sec, truth is Newt doesn't know what he's talking about if he really downed Rush. Rush, read slowly, DID NOT hope Obama would fail. He said if he acted like reagan and cut taxes then he hoped Obama would SUCCEED!.
But he further said, if Obama followed Socialistic policies, then he hoped those policies would fail. Context is everything, eh what?

Your problem is that your brain is hardwired into political party labels. Once you get stimulated enough and can afford it, visit your nearest brain surgeon to see if he can disconnect those wires and hook you up with ideological ones.

It's all so stupid. Rush did not say that he wanted "Obama" the person to fail. He only said he wanted him to fail if he continued the "socialist policies".

How many times does this have to be said before someone will actually listen to what Rush said instead of regurgitating what the media "says" Rush said?

That is Rush Limbaugh's problem. 99% of those who say they hate him because he is a racist, druggie, loser, whatever.......NEVER listen to him. They only repeat what other "liberal Rush-haters" tell them to believe and that is FACT.

If you listen to Rush every day for three months and you still hate him......OK, that's your choice, but he isn't stupid, he isn't racist, and he doesn't hate people who don't agree with him. He is just a guy who is very smart, who believes in what he says, and a large number of Americans agree with many of his beliefs.

If somebody tells me Al Franken is a bumbling idiot. I will listen to his show and hear his own comments before I make up my mind. Somebody told me that Al Gore's global warming movie was a pile of crap. I watched it first; then I realized that they were right. It is a pile of crap!

And I would also add to this that Rush said often that he doesn't want America to fail. He is capable of making the crystal clear distinction between The People who are the only ones who make this country great and government whose only inclination is to impede true progress in its insatiable quest for power. Sadly, too many in this country are incapable of making this kind of distinction because they attribute this country's power and wealth more to government than to the people -- to the producers -- to the entrepreneurs -- to the oxen who carry the water.

Promises by Barry:

No lobbyists in his cabinet, except the ones he waived.

No earmarks, except the 9,000+ in the Omni-pork bill and the porkulus bill.

He would go over every bill line by line to control waste, but that only applies to bills he actually reads.

All bills would be posted for 5 days for us all to review, but the excludes the one that have to be passed without reading by anyone.

Going to bring our troops home fro Iraq, except the 50,000 that have to say. (Barry's plan looks remarkable like Bush's)
