Is this:

a) a horse to play
b) what to do after playing the horse, or
c) both :D

Saturday 7th March. Each way tip

SANDOWN 3-10 (EWAY @ 33/1) MOVES GOODENOUGH

Although modest on the flat MOVES GOODENOUGH has done well in 2 of his 3 starts over hurdles. Starting at Uttoxeter , he was held up at the back (as usual) and came through to win by an easy 7l (on g/s). At Newbury the next time out he jumped very poorly and was 7/12 (btn 29l) , in both these races the form has worked out well. Last time out at Taunton he was beaten 3.75l by QUARTZ DE THAIX (won since) , held up again he only got done by his penalty (carried 11-11 that day).

Handicaps look the road for him and 125 doesnt look to harsh for 3 runs (lightly raced and does look an improver). With the blinkers back on (wore on the flat , off for 3 runs over hurdles so far) this race should be run to suit with the big field and he can finish placed . ( SKY BET pay the 1st 5)

here's hoping anyway

Todays TOP BACKING tip is brought to you by www.racing-tips.org.uk

4.25 – KELSO - WILD CANE RIDGE

Despite the small field this is quite an interesting race. However the selection here has to be WILD CANE RIDGE. Although his form figures dont suggest it hes actually been running well (in better class of race). He should have won at Ayr lto (with leader but blundered badly at the last and was beaten 5l (3rd)). However he is now dropping in ratings . has the going he loves and has decent enough chasing experience and should be hard to beat.

I'm actually visiting in Dublin right now and spent the afternoon in a Boyles Sports. Good times. They went nuts when Kauto Star won. That jock should've won in the 2.40 as well, lost by a nose.

2.40 - NO. I had Pride of Delcote, lost by a neck.
3.20 - 3rd. I had Neptune and he faded bad in the end.
4.00 - NO. I had Royal Auclair who ate it on the 4th jump. Horse and Jock are ok.
4.40 - NO. I had caracciola...no dice.
I've got Poquelin going in the 5.15

Looks like I better stick to Thouroughbred racing!

TODAYS TOP BACKING TIP COMES FROM LINGFIELD.

3-30 – LINGFIELD – TINSHU

Right a good few of these wont get the trip or are upped to much in class. However we want to concentrate on TINSHU. Only btn 1l on her handicap debut lto ( despite a slightly awkward head carriage). The handicapper hasnt overreacted and only put her up 2lb for that. Her trainer thinks she could be really good at this trip and despite her early form being poor she was given time to strengthen up (which she has) and we should see a decent filly now.

BEST OF LUCK :)

8-20 – KEMPTON – LUBERON

Not the strongest race and there aint going to be a lot of pace. However LUBERON is more than likely to lead (usually does), he has a decent record on the aw (r5 w/p 3) and this is easier than some of the races he races in. SCINTILLO looks as if he struggles to get the trip (placed but one paced and not sure about aw) whilst BIG ROBERT (usually hup) could be the one for the f/cast but LUBERON is taken for the win.

2.20 AYR - SOMETHING SILVER
SOMETHING SILVER rates the one to be on here. A decent 2nd here lto (5l to CORLANDE in 1st time visor). A drop of 2lb takes him down to his lowest mark! Guaranteed to lead , he should stretch the field especially with VICARIO (well handicapped but poor over fences) and TOY GUN needs further. RECKLESS VENTURE would be considered but he has a bit to find with SOMETHING SILVER

TODAYS TOP EACHWAY TIP
2.05 – LINGFIELD - JUDGE N JURY (EW)
This horse was a major improver on the turf last season and has went well on the aw before. 4th in a 6f Listed race when last season (at Doncaster) was a terrific result considering he is much better over 5f. Although he has been off for 130 days he can go well fresh and has went well here in the past (1st 3 races of career). Given he is only 8lb below MATSONUSUKE in the ratings he has a lot of improvement in him, and has an ideal draw here.

Best of luck :)

TODAYS TOP E/W TIP

2-20 WINCANTON BACK TO BACK (EW)

Nobody has considered this horse which could well help us with a decent price. However looking at BACK AT BACKS 2 runs in the UK so far at first they dont read well but study them a bit closer. On his debut he was beaten 7l at Wincanton by Dastardly dick (who has won since) and then nto at Newbury he had basically no chance in what was a fair maiden for the track (thrown up numerous winners). Both of these runs have been with cut and I just wonder if the faster ground might well help. Of the opposition PROPER didnt beat that much (and might strugle to give the weight away), WOODYS DREAM wasnt disgraced at big odds on his debut at Newbury but BACK AT BACKS form looks more solid whilst CLASSIC SWAIN didnt really impress that much behind STARLUCK at Kempton and will probably go off a short price, so for me BACK TO BACK has to be an eway bet.

BEST OF LUCK

2.30 PLUMPTON - AVENUE FIRST (WIN)

This is a decent maiden for the time of year however looking more closely KNOW THE LAW ran respectably enough on his hurdles debut but if you watch the race he led after the last and got beat, and he didnt look like he wanted to win on the flat either so is passed over. LONG DISTANCE wasnt beaten far by ROCKITEER at Huntingdon lto (well clear of rest) and will have place claims as should KARKY SCHULTZ who has shown to be consistent However I do know there was major disappointment when FIRST AVENUE was beaten on his debut. Dont read too much into the head gear being put on here , the last 2 jumps (jumped left) werent great but saying all that he only went down .5l to a decent enough type. He will be better back on faster ground !

BEST OF LUCK :)

TODAYS TOP EACHWAY TIP
4.30 SEDGEFIELD CLASSIC ACT (EW)

With most of these so out of form it looks like a lottery. Most people will go for course specialist MATAMATA DE TENDRON but he seems to be best suited by soft/heavy going so is overlooked. On this occassion I am going for a lightly raced and unexposed type in CLASSIC ACT. Anybody looking at his last run at Ayr when beaten 25l wouldnt get the true picture. Basically he had been upped 14lb since his handicap run , but got himself too far back in the race and made a few errors , however he was the only horse to stay on and the hope is that the extra trip and better ground is going to be in his favour.(should get the trip through breeding lines)

BEST OF LUCK :)

TODAY’S TOP TIP COMES FROM
2-50 LINGFIELD (ANOTHER SOCKET - EWAY)
The race could revolve around THE MAGIC BLANKET who still looks well handicapped but I do prefer a couple of others. ANOTHER SOCKET is the one that I want to be with in this race. Yes she has only raced at Wolves (r5 w1 pl3 on the aw). However although her last race was poor she does go well after a break, and given that this race could well be run to suit her (will probably be hup), the encouraging fact was her stable sent out a winner out the other day and they usually do well at the start of the season.

BEST OF LUCK :)

ONE FOR TODAY :)

2-10 WOLVERHAMPTON MOUNTAIN PASS (EW)

MOUNTAIN PASS ran a much better race lto when dropped back into a cl6 race. Held up for much of the race he stayed on well. The step up in trip will help and he has been running well of late (apart from his penultimate which was a cl5). The wide draw is a slight concern but this is such a poor race.

BEST OF LUCK ;)

ONE EACH/WAY TIP FOR TODAY

3-00 NOTTINGHAM - CAPO REGIME
This isn’t the most competitive 0-70 handicaps you’ll see this season despite the numbers. Quite a few are unexposed on the aw and don’t have much turf form. The one to take the eye is CAPO REGIME from Dandy Nicholls. He had 3 runs in maidens last season (with the best being on g/firm over 5f at Thirsk). Despite the fact he hung badly on the 3 starts he has been gelded in the winter and is in here off a low mark. He has more to recommend him than most and is worth an eway bet @ 12/1

BEST OF LUCK ;)

BENSALEM 17:35 CHELTENHAM *WIN TIP*

Bensalem should be able to win this race and get straight back on winning terms again.

He started life over the jumps very well winning both of his first 2 starts.

He stepped up to a class one race at cheltenham but was unable to get passed dimond harry. The form of that race is coming up well with other horses from the race behind him coming up as winners.

The extra furlong in trip could help him even more today and the ground is much better for him today as it was soft - heavy last time which is not his prefered ground.

Best rated horse in the field by a mile and just needs to get round to win one must feel

TODAYS NAP IS

THOMAS BAINES 17:40 WINDSOR

Its a very short price for a maiden but everything seems to be in place for this highly thought of colt here. Last time out here he came from a poor draw and ran as green as you like early on before getting his act together far to late to chase home the impressive Red Jazz. If he recreates what he was doing at the end of that race he should dominate this, short price or not.
