A Democratic senator says no to a huge federal spending bill

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123612545277023901.html

One line from Mr. Bayh's article, and this one is classic:

The economic downturn requires new policies, not more of the same.

I don't care who you are, that is funny.

Actually there are several quotable lines from this "off the reservation" Senator. He should walk his kids to school for the next few weeks.

he sounds better than many Republicans. bravo to Bayh for having some balls.

they want an 8% increase, while the economy is shrinking? where is the belt-tightening? where are the hard choices we heard Obama talking about? where is the sacrifice that Democrats were always accusing Bush of not asking the American people for? where is the guy who was going to go after earmarks with a passion?

TOTAL FRAUDS.

you can always find 6-10 people in dc that talk the game.

of course you can't find more than 1 or 2 that walk the talk.

the "people" of this country vote the same clowns back in over and over.

maybe someday they will grow a pair , one can always hope.

Well...that's it. It's The People who are expected to make sacrifices in order to pay for Congressional Spending Extravaganzas (read: Drunken Sailor Spending Sprees.). That's the way it is with hypocritical libs. Surely you don't believe for a moment that sacrifices apply to them?

Congress sacrifice? hell, they voted themselves a raise just a while back.
The pres says he's against earmarks and there's about 9,000 in this bill.
Will Obama veto it? Bet not.
He talks one way and does the opposite.

yes congress should sacrifice, but I mainly meant all the federal programs.
lets spread the pain around and cut out the pork. how about a spending freeze?
would that be such a heavy burden? 8% growth at a time like this to me seems outrageous.

The problem is, Ji\m, that Congress wouldn't push the Omnibus bill through last year is because Bush wouldn't sign it and Obama will. They're not about trimming the govt but expanding it.

lefty , ok they are scum, but are you now for a JAP style work out.

You see the gvt is the other side of the private funding.

You want to stop that now.

You think that will bring on the JAp 10 year lost period?

Hint, there is not really any private demand for growth and hasn't been for sometime now.

Myself, I guess I would like to see them vote it down and thus shutdown the gvt right here, now that would be something to see.

Talk about your lost decade!!!!
