Most people here seem to have the same general take that we are heading to a worse place now that team Obama has taken office.
My question is, what and where do u think the stock market, the economy, gas prices, everything here in america would be going if McCain had won last November??
Would we be better off right now, one year from now, four years from now, or were both guys different roads to the same inevitable destination?

Nothing would be any different. The problems would be the same and I believe there is little the president can do to make it any better.

You're asking if the Queen would be the King if she had balls.
We'd be here, but not with a trillion dollar budget with 9,000 earmarks in it.
Didn't Obama once say "I will go over the budget line by line" ?

The Dow would be back at 9k......doing nothing would have been better..........than what Obama has done. Just the realization that Obama was about to get elected started the latest slide.............and where does it stop?

We would likely be better off only because the democrats , in control of the vote , wouldn't approve almost anything McCain offered . We would be at a stand-still , the economy would get worse , but eventually run its course and recover as it should . We would save ourselves trillions of dollars , regain the needed respect worldwide , and not leave our grandchildren a debt they'd never recover from . I don't beleive McCain would have the answer , but by simply being McCain the republican president , would ultimately get credit for a recovery in that he was hand-cuffed and had no choice .

I laugh out loud when I hear people say the market is going in the toilet b/c BO got elected. The market is going south because of the economic outlook around the work is in decline and b/c companies publicly traded on stock exchanges are feeling the effects of that global retrenchment. Earnings are declining and multiples are contracting and the valuations of issues are reflecting that fact. Dividends are the mothers milk of the stock market and when thoses titties dry up, the market plunges. Or, as I've heard a couple of times over the last few days, the traders on the floors are numbers guys. They run the numbers and the current situation is a result of what they see down the road.

I don't disagree with much of what you say. But like Jim Cramer and many others are saying now.........Obama is causing much damage also. Add it all up and you get a whopper of a Dow killer........

Hannity was blasting the Republicans in Congress today, because his people have gone over the earmarks line by line, and according to him, 40% of the total were inserted by republicans...they are all sellouts to whoever gives them the suitcase with the most money in it.

Not disagreeing with you. That makes 60 % of the earmarks line by line....

Jim Cramer? Are you serious?
Here's Jim Cramer's top prediction for 2008.
"1. Goldman Sachs (GS) makes more money than every other brokerage firm in New York combined and finishes the year at $300 a share. Not a prediction—an inevitability. In fact, it’s only January, and I think it’s already come true. "
JR, I know, like Limpballs, you want Obama to fail. I get that from your partisan dittohead slant, but seriously quoting Cramer who was begging for Bush's stimulus and Obama's stimulus is just the height of hypocrisy.

If McCain would have been elected he would have been the target of the media. He would have been made fun of, cut down, blamed for every problem in the world, just like President Bush.
Also, there would be race riots because BO was not elected. We would be headed towards a civil war because the BO supporters would cry racism. The media would fuel it. BO had to be elected or violence would have broken out all over the country.
Terrorists on the other hand would not be so happy as they are now. Now, they know they have a president that wants to appease them and that gives them a better chance to do the bad things that they want to do, knowing that the president will not do anything to them.

Wrong again Ralph (as usual)
Had McCain been elected.......
The dow would be at least 12,000. The housing crisis would have been solved.
GM stock would have already tripled after they paid all the govt bailout money back. Plus... they would have already rolled out their line of new Electric cars that get 1400 MPG because they're 99.9% powered by two AAA Eveready batteries.

best,
Might very well be the case. I'm reminded of the term "Gnomes of Zurich", first used in 1956 by British Labour Party representative Harold Wilson to describe the secretive banking societies based in Switzerland. Policy differences between the two partys make for good entertainment and drama while many tune in to watch the dumbed down spoonfed version of what's really at play on networks such as MSNBC or Fox, depending on their own preference. At the end of the day the results are likely going to be the same regardless of which party is understood to be in charge of our government at any given time. I would not at all be surprised to learn more someday about the veracity of a worldwide stealthy undercurrent influencing the economic and foreign policy decisions of the world's nations.

S,
You forgot a couple: we would have Bin Laden in a jail here awaiting trial.
Mac promised he knew how to get him and would.
all the toxic crap the EU and others around the world used to rake fees would have been paid off within 30 days at 100% of book.
Thus no crisis - all is well all major indexes up at least 1000X.
nirvana - peace on earth - all terrorists would just skunk back into their caves to await our Peace Corp training in the Jeffersonian ideals as the marshall rides into town carrying his rifle.
McCain is now supporting a line item veto bill.:sleeping::sleeping:
Is his left hand turn signal still blinking? ba dum
He says we are costing our grandchildren with the spending.
Hey, his grandchildren have grandchildren. ba dum
