Anyone heard anything about this scheme? THey get you to sign up for a discover card, no money at stake supposedly and then they give you a website. Naturally then you have to market this card to your friends who click on your website and the revenue stream keeps coming in everytime someone signs up for a card....
Sounds like bs to me but I got a friend who is really pushing me to try this. He says they just started this business (run by an outfit called Friends and Family, how sweet) in Nov and they have not yet promoted it (they will promote in April).
So how comes not all these other credit card companies are doing this?
"Look dont over analyze this, this is good."
I dunno. Does anyone have any other thoughts or heard about this one....?
Do not believe or trust any credit card company. All are liars, all are crooked, all are worse than loan sharks. If Joe the Dumber was not bought and paid fro by CC companies, they would be going after them for predatory lending.

Let me get this straight. In this economy, you want a credit card issed by a bank that is probably failing, (re: bailout), on recomendation of a friend involved in a pyramid scheme so you can pay more interest than before with more rules than before, more penalties than before and more fees.
I think I would pass. I got rid of four of my cards and I am in the process of getting rid of the last one.
You need to check this out. It runs in my mind that Discover was started by a retail chain. Sears, if memory serves. They are having financial difficulties and I don't think I would want to get involved.

I could be wrong, but I think Discover is at the bottom of the CC totem pole. Doesn't surprise me they'd be wanting to increase market share. I can only hope that all the illegals and welfare bunnies sign up.

BC you could be right. My problem right now is that they are all out to get my money and I think I will pass. They like using "fine print". I explored options at my local bank and got a way better deal.

Since I now own 40% of CitiBank, can I pay only 40% of my balance?
Hey, you want to increase spending across the board - limit all CC interest to 7%. Whatever happened to ursury?

I know I know. I was thinking the same thing. But remember that Discover cards are paid off at the end of each month so not a lot of interest. I dont think. OF course I never had one because I can never pay bills on time, my wife of course loves paying stuff at the end of month..
