I thought America was in dire straits. But, the whole night, no matter what Obama is talking about, she's got this ear-to-ear grin on her face. At times, she jumps so quickly to her feet, you swear she gets airborne.

At least Biden had some composure.

Yeah, and right now I'm listening to this gov. from LA and he sounds like somebody reading a bedtime story to a kid. If that's the best the repugs can come up with they can forget it for the next 20 yrs.

It's a safe bet that that speech derailed any chances he might have had to get the nomination. It fell totally flat and I refuse to believe that this guy would have ANY chance against Obama. Republicans have to aim much higher in order to have a chance.

Nancy P. reminds me of a country & western song of a few years ago;"Easy on the Eyes,Hard on the Heart".Since I am actually a bit older than Nancy,I can view her with, shall we say,a certain interest. At 68,she is a darned good looking woman, and I find her very attractive. That said, lets view the other part of the song. Her far Left radical views are the polar opposite of my own,and consider her to be a threat to the nation. She is third in line for the presidency after the Pres and VP,and the remote chance of her becoming head of government is not a pleasant one to contemplate.

Joe is 66 years old and not a computer whiz. I get it. When your toilet is overflowing, you call a plumber....Meaning I don't think computer skills are a critical element in the VP's job description.

Normally I would agree with you...but, in this polarized world of ridicule, that has been created over the past eight years, it could be said that he is 66 years old, a doofuss, and so out of touch that he is not fit to be some kind of Stimulus Czar, much less ever having a productive thought. Hold on NJS, the left has set the ground rules for critiquing President and VP speak, and nothing ole Joe says or does will go unnoticed.

the significance is that this guy is not qualified to be anything higher than a Wal-Mart greeter in the private sector.

"Mr. Vice President, we watched the speech last night with a cross section of Americans, and we asked them if they had any questions for you, and I'd like to share one of them with you from a viewer who had to lay off the most ever staff last year, Hendrickson is his name, and he says, 'What I'm looking for are real clear details about how the stimulus is really going to help small business.'"

BIDEN: I would recommend that woman call my office directly, and I will be able to guide her as to what pieces of this package would be directly helpful to her. For example, it may very well be that she's in a circumstance where she is not able, her customers aren't able to get to her, there's no transit capability, the bridge going across the creek to get to her business needs repair, may very well be that she's in a position where she is unable to access the -- her energy costs are so high by providing smart meters, by being able to bring down the cost of her workforce.

how reassuring it must be to those laid off workers that bridge repairs are one the way.

Heard a report that post presidency W is drinking heavily again. He told America he gave up the excesses of his "youth" when he found "God", however he never sought professional help for substance addiction. There were a couple incidents where the camera caught him at odds with his promise to America that alchohol was a vice of his past. As Bush's term progressed there was a marked decline in his public demeanor. His ability to speak coherently deteriorated. Granted, the issues he was forced to verbally defend were indefensible and that fact contributed to the morass of misspoken words left floating without a factual foundation. But then, facts have always had a liberal bias.

What brought George Bush crashing down is the same thing that caused Pieoosh Jindal to freeze before the American Public during his prime time appearance. For the past 28 years Republicans have insisted upon bringing a knife to a gun fight. Even now, they continue to insist that refuted concepts like Trickle Down Reaganomics, Deregulation, Outsourcing and Tax Cuts for the Wealthy will make up the Revenue Shortfalls that those very policies created. Words come with difficulty when one is caught with his pants down and the entire country observes that the emperor has no clothes.

Don't feel too sorry for ole George though, he's always been happy in drink and at least he can afford the good stuff.

Bush never crashed, just the opposite. He got almost everything he wanted, even after losing control of both houses. His agenda was what prevailed. Congress was pretty much his bitch. For all the chest thumping and whining, there was Scooter Libby.

Much of the spending actually accounts for the 2 wars.
It was not considered "spending" by the bushies and not included in previous budgets. Estimates have been as high as 4 trillion by the time we leave Iraq.
If Obama had included this higher amount youse guys would be appeplectic.
