They are bridge jumping Old Fashioned. This is either a watch or beat Old Fashioned kind of race. Speed horses on the dirt going long are at their most vulnerable. Value is in the win pool and show pool. The exotics are being bet more evenly.

Dutch win/show 1/3/9

Thanks for the info. OF is no lock -- no offense to the horse but he was untested on the lead for that last win. I bet 3, 4, 7 and 9 to show.

You don't see that often in a thoroughbred race with 11 horses.

OF in a jiggy-jog winning off by about 4 in a fast time. Followed a good pace by the 3 and just went on cruise control.

He went a little less than 2 seconds faster than the older 30K fillies/mares so in all likelihood, Old Fashioned may not crack the 100 Beyer mark. Might get close but I think it won't be above 98.

Good first back though and a very fast opening. Good first step.

One of the best values for $2.20 show payout that you will ever see.

Although he got the cash, I respectfully disagree. That Old Fashioned would be successful chasing a 45 4/5 half mile in his first out of the year after waltzing through a 49 2/5 half on the lead in the Remsen wasn't a given in my book.

That's what makes these 3yos interesting and hopefully profitable, there is plenty of room for debate.

There was a match race at Fairgrounds a month or so ago..I'm proud to say I had the winner.:faint: Now that was the best bang for ones buck compared to a bridgejumpers ways..He paid much more then 2.20..Maybe $2.80..I seem to remember the long shot pay outs much better..

Old Fashioned ran a huge race at odds on. Considering the layoff the pace and the fact that he was an odds on chalk with an "X" on his back he ran as well as one could expect. He merits respect.
