Sanford winner Desert Party, Champagne winner Vineyard Haven and beaten favorite in the Norfolk, Regal Ransom go today in Dubai. Post time is just after 1:00 pm Eastern time. Interesting race with Desert Party having the benefit of a prep race, while beating Regal Ransom.

Desert Party also gets the services of Godolphin's first call rider, Frankie Dettori.

Does anybody know if Frankie Dettori has ever ridden in a Kentucky Derby?

The track feed from Dubai is on ch. 13 of the Racetrack Television Network service. Very cool to watch as an alternative to TVG.

Frankie Dettori rode China Visit in 2000. Finished sixth for Godolphin Stable.

It seems that wagering and watching it is available on Youbet, doesn't the other ADW have it too?

Just wondering.

If your ADW is from NYRA, the state does not allow video to be shown so they won't infringe on OTB profits.......

Desert Party in a romp, easily.

Vineyard Haven, not even in the money , so much for that one, it looked horrible.

Looks like Frankel has some reasons to think he was right to sell. 12 Million of them, in fact.

Dettori probably had the heads up from bin Suror that Vineyard Haven wasn't fully cranked. Did they provide the workouts for each?

I just posted the results on the Triple Crown topics...thought that is where it should be posted...and I added that if Bobby was having second thoughts...he ain't got them anymore...rolling in the cash and laughing his ass off:D

Next up is Midshipman...anyone know when they plan on running him??

I have a feeling Vineyard Haven will come back strong second off the layoff. He probably just needed a tightener and will come back at better odds. Vineyard Haven is too good to be a dud.

MickJ26....
Maybe...he did probably need a race. But, maybe he's one of those brilliant 2 yr olds that don't show up as a 3 yr old...guess we'll wait and see.

I don't think he was awful. He raced well, forwardly placed and flattened out at the end. Not terrible. If I was a backer of him, I wouldn't change, though once he went to Dubai I was definitely not a backer of him....

I thought the 2-year-old stakes races in New York last year were very weak that Vineyard Haven won, and was not surprised to see Frankel take the money and run with this one.

Horse might be better off sprinting, but he probably won't be running in the Derby.

Winner did look very good.
